When school leaders thrive, schools thrive

VASSP focusses on the issues close to the hearts of its members.  Discussing issues with and being supported by 'like minded' colleagues has been instrumental in my growth as a principal.”

Tim Blunt, Principal, Sunshine College

Field Services

The provision of Field Services is an important element of the services and support offered to members of the Victorian Association of State Secondary Principals. The Association employs four Field Officers who are available to provide confidential advice and support for members including Principals, Assistant Principals and those who are acting in either the Principal or Assistant Principal role. Field Officers are recently retired Principals who bring significant wisdom and expertise to their role of supporting members.

Field Officers are:

  • recent members of the Principal Class

  • available via mobile telephone, email and in person to provide consistent, up to date and relevant professional advice and support to members

  • available to counsel and assist members in their leadership role and visit schools as appropriate

  • here to respond to email, telephone or personal inquiries on specific issues of concern, educational leadership matters, student resource package and school funding, staffing processes, human resource management, school facilities maintenance processes and any other concerns relevant to the principal class role

  • available to help members with MPB and other hearings as required

  • here to support the work of designated Regional Groups
