VASSP Field Officers Provide
Field Services is a cornerstone of VASSP’s support for secondary school leaders.
Our Field Officers are experienced school leaders with deep knowledge of the Victorian government system. They offer practical, confidential and strategic guidance to principals and assistant principals facing complex challenges.
You do not have to lead alone.

- Calm, strategic guidance in high-stakes situations
- Advocacy when required
What We Support
Field Officers provide confidential advice and advocacy across:
- Workforce and Enterprise Agreement matters
- Employee conduct and performance processes
- Financial management and school operations
- Organisational restructuring and role design
- Merit Protection Board matters
- Staff, student and parent conduct issues
- Policy interpretation and system guidance
- Regional and system-level concerns
- Advocacy at DE and political levels
*Field Services support is available to eligible VASSP members employed as principal/acting principal or assistant principal/acting assistant principal in Victorian government secondary schools.

Assistant Principal Field Officer
A dedicated Assistant Principal Field Officer who understands the intricacies and varied requirements of the role. Support is available for all Assistant Principals, whether they are just starting out, have taken on a new portfolio or are experienced career Assistant Principals.
