The Independent Office for School Dispute Resolution employs alternative dispute resolution techniques to address complex disputes involving students and Victorian government schools.

With a focus on Conflict Coaching, collaboration and practical solutions, Tony will discuss approaches to best foster healthy relationships in challenging circumstances.

The Merit Protection Boards (MPB) offer an independent avenue for Department of Education employees to appeal or grieve decisions related to transfers, promotions, harassment, discrimination, incapacity, and more. As VASSP’s resident MPB specialist,
Rod will offer his insight on process, current trends and tips that support the Principal class when faced with the MPB.

The current VSGA 2022 is due to expire on the 31 December 2025.  As a key bargaining agent for the Victorian Principal class, the APF have commenced the process of engaging with stakeholders to develop the Log of Claims for the new EBA. 

Recommendations are inclusive of remuneration considerations, conditions of employment and matters relevant to the way school leaders perform their work.  Learn more about the process of consultation and the important role the APF plays in supporting the Principal class.
