Membership Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions of Annual Membership with the Victorian Association of State Secondary Principals.

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the membership of individuals with the Victorian Association of State Secondary Principals (“the Association”). By applying for membership, you agree to these terms, which form a binding legal agreement between the member and the Association.

2. Membership Eligibility and Categories

2.1. Membership is open to individuals/entities that meet the eligibility criteria as outlined in the Association’s constitution. 2.2. The Association offers the following tiers and categories of membership:     Tier: FULL Categories: a) Principal Class Membership b) Non-school-based DE-Employee Membership Tier: ASSOCIATE Categories: c) Leading Teacher Membership d) Learning Specialist Membership e) VASSP Retired Principal Membership f) Affiliated Professional Membership g) VASSP Employee (Invitation only) Tier: LIFE Categories: a. Life Membership (Invitation only) 2.3. Each category has different rights, privileges, and obligations, as detailed in the Association’s constitution.

3. Membership Fees

3.1. Membership fees are payable annually and must be paid by the due date specified in the invoice sent to members. 3.2. The amount is determined annually by the Association and may be subject to change. Members will be notified of any fee changes in writing.

4. Term and Renewal

4.1. Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of payment. 4.2. Members will be notified in advance of their renewal date and must pay the annual fee to maintain membership.

5. Rights and Obligations of Members

5.1. Members are entitled to the benefits and services as outlined in the Association’s constitution. 5.2. Members are obliged to adhere to the Association’s constitution, these Terms and Conditions, and any other policies or requirements set by the Association.

6. Cancellation and Termination

6.1. Members may cancel their membership by providing written notice to the Association. 6.2. The Association reserves the right to terminate a membership if a member fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions, the Association’s constitution, or any other applicable policies.

7. Refunds

7.1. Membership fees are non-refundable, except in circumstances deemed exceptional by the Association.

8. Privacy

8.1. The Association is committed to protecting members’ privacy and personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic).

9. Dispute Resolution

9.1. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions should be first addressed through the Association’s internal dispute resolution process.

10. Governing Law

10.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and members agree to submit to the jurisdiction of its courts.

11. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

11.1. The Association reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Members will be notified of any changes in writing.
